After a grueling three days on the stand, R&B singer Cassie Ventura is set to wrap up her testimony in Manhattan on Friday in the sex-trafficking and racketeering case against her former boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs — who she says raped, beat and blackmailed her, and forced her into drug-fueled “freak-off” sex marathons with escorts during their 11-year relationship.
Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo called Ventura, 38, the “most important witness in a very important case” on Thursday after she was made to read hundreds of shockingly sexually-explicit and “loving” texts and emails she exchanged with Diddy when they dated, as she was grilled by another of his attorneys, Anna Estevao.
The defense has five hours Friday to finish their cross-examination of Ventura, who is eight months pregnant.
Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
He faces life in prison if convicted.
The trial is not televised because cameras are prohibited inside the federal courthouse — so watch this space for all the latest updates.
