Liberty fans remember the moment like it happened yesterday.
The Minnesota Lynx’s inbound pass was intercepted by Leonie Fiebich. Breanna Stewart dribbled past halfcourt as Nyara Sabally skipped. Stewart then hugged Jonquel Jones while Sabrina Ionescu collapsed on the Liberty logo in disbelief.
Twenty-eight seasons in the making, the Liberty finally did it. They were WNBA champions.
After an eventful offseason, the Liberty will return to their gray court at Barclays Center on Friday night for the preseason opener against the Connecticut Sun.
