Natalie Portman’s children are her top priority as she navigates life after her divorce.
The “V For Vendetta” actress, who finalized her divorce from dancer Benjamin Millepied in March 2024, gave rare insight into her life with son Aleph, 13, and daughter Amalia, 8 in an Interview magazine profile published Tuesday.
“My kids are always a source of excitement, because because you just see them develop into the individuals they are,” she told “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega, who conducted the interview.
“I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends, with their kids and my kids; that’s pretty fun,” the “Thor” star explained of her current social calendar.
Portman married the French choreographer, whom she met on the set of “Black Swan,” in 2012, after giving birth to Aleph in 2011. The couple then welcomed daughter Amalia in 2017.
The “Vox Lux” star admitted to Ortega that she looked forward to bringing her two children into the world amid her acting career.
“I was just excited to have kids, and with a person that I was in love with,” she said of becoming a mother. “But it’s really important to have people in your life who keep you on the ground.”
Portman and Millepied, a New York City Ballet alum, happily acknowledged their tenth wedding anniversary in 2022, with the actress taking to Instagram to gush over the dancer and choreographer.
“Ten years today @benjaminmillepied,” she wrote at the time, adding, “And it keeps getting better.”
But a year later, reports of an alleged affair between Millepied and climate change activist Camille Étienne emerged.
The Oscar-winning actress subsequently ditched her wedding ring for their 11th anniversary in 2023, and the duo ultimately finalized their divorce in March 2024.
Following the end of the marriage, a source told Page Six that the actress was having a “phoenix moment,” adding that she “looks incredible and is feeling great.”
At the time, Portman was promoting her Netflix film “May December,” and the source divulged that she was “killing the red carpet.”
“Not a bad way to start a new chapter,” they noted.
Last month, People confirmed that Portman had moved on and is dating French musician Tanguy Destable.
French publication Voici initially reported that the actress had “fallen” for Destable a year after briefly sparking romance speculation with “Gladiator II” actor Paul Mescal.
Millepied, meanwhile, was spotted locking lips with a mystery woman in Paris in 2024. The actress was not “surprised” he moved on so quickly, according to a source for Us Weekly at the time. “[Natalie] hopes Benjamin is happy,” the insider said.
