WATCH LIVE: Court hearing for Kimberly Sullivan, stepmom in Waterbury ‘House of Horrors’ case

In March 2025, a 32-year-old man was rescued from a residence in Waterbury, Connecticut, after allegedly being held captive by his stepmother, Kimberly Sullivan, for over two decades. The victim, who weighed only 68 pounds at the time of his rescue, reported enduring extreme deprivation and confinement since the age of 11. He managed to escape by setting a fire in the house. Sullivan was subsequently arrested and faces charges including assault and kidnapping. She was released on a $300,000 bail and is scheduled for a court appearance on March 26, 2025. ​
