PORT ST. LUCIE — Jazz Chisholm Jr. knew.

In the midst of a champagne-soaked celebration in the visiting clubhouse at Progressive Field last October, Chisholm screamed out his price for the man that had just put together an epic at-bat that ended in a home run to lift the Yankees into the World Series.

“I think we should re-sign Soto, $700 million!” Chisholm shouted to no one in particular. “That’s my number. Final offer.”

It sounded like the bubbly and beer talking — and perhaps it partially was — but Chisholm was closer than anyone else had predicted at the time, and still undershot Juan Soto’s final number.
