Guns N’ Roses reveals new drummer following Frank Ferrer’s shocking exit after 19 years

Welcome to the jungle.

Guns N’ Roses revealed the name of their new drummer just one day after announcing the departure of longtime percussionist Frank Ferrer.

Drummer and songwriter Isaac Carpenter will take Ferrer’s seat behind the drums as the iconic band prepares to hit the road for their 2025 European, Asian and Middle East Tour, headlining stadiums and festivals throughout the summer, Guns N’ Roses said in a statement Thursday.

The band also shared the news on Instagram. “Welcoming Isaac Carpenter as the new drummer of Guns N’ Roses,” the band captioned a photo of Carpenter on Thursday.

Born in Washington’s Tri-Cities, Carpenter, 45, is known for his work in alternative and hard rock genres.

His career spans an impressive roster of acts, including live and studio work with Adam Lambert, Duff McKagan’s group Loaded, Awolnation, the hardcore metal outfit Barbarians of California, A Perfect Circle, The Exies, Ours, and Black Lab.

Breaking onto the scene in 1995, Carpenter co-founded the group Loudermilk while still in high school. He then went on to be signed to legendary music producer Rick Rubin’s label American.

“Carpenter has made a name for himself by uniquely blending versatility and groove with crushing force and technical skill, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted drummer in the industry,” Guns N’ Roses’ statement obtained by The Post read.

Carpenter’s arrival came on the heels of Ferrer’s stunning exit after 19 years with the “Sweet Child O’ Mine” rockers. The departure was amicable, according to the group.

“Guns N’ Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer,” the rock group wrote on Wednesday via Instagram. “The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

The band concluded, “Thank you, Frank. For the friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the last 19 years.”

The longest-serving drummer in the rock legends’ storied run, Ferrer, 58, first joined Guns N’ Roses founding members Axl RoseSlash and Duff McKagan in June 2006 for a show in Dessel, Belgium.

Initially booked as just a two-week replacement for Bryan “Brain” Mantia, Ferrer became the rock band’s official drummer in October of that year.

Ferrer’s last show with the group was on Nov. 5, 2023, in Mexico.
