Violence breaks out near Prospect park as man shot in the neck after separate stabbing attack

A 35-year-old man was shot and wounded by an apparent stranger just across from Prospect Park late Tuesday, cops said. 

The victim was blasted in the neck minutes before 11 p.m. outside an apartment building on Parkside Avenue near St. Paul’s Place in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, authorities said. 

It did not appear that the victim knew his shooter, but the motive is under investigation, police said.

The victims was taken to Kings County Hospital Center and is listed as in stable condition. William Farrington

The attacker fled and the victim was taken to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he was listed in stable condition. 

Meanwhile, in a separate attack around 10:15 p.m., a 48-year-old man was stabbed in the back by a stranger around 10:15 p.m., about six blocks away on Rogers Avenue near Lenox Road, police said. 

That victim was taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect in that attack was also still on the loose Wednesday. 

It remains unclear what sparked the violence.
