Kelly Clarkson returns to talk show after mystery absence

Waiting for a moment like this.

Kelly Clarkson returned to her eponymous daytime talk show Tuesday following a sudden and unexplained absence for a little over a week.

However, the singer-turned-TV personality failed to address what caused her to miss her hosting duties.

Instead, Clarkson, 42, opened the show with her signature “Kellyoke” performance and interviewed “Severance” star Adam Scott and musician and YouTuber Marc Rebillet.

Clarkson was first absent from her “The Kelly Clarkson Show” March 3. “Barbie” actor Simu Liu stepped in to host and shared that it was unplanned.

“Kelly isn’t able to make it today. We’re sending her our very best,” he told the audience.

“I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie, ‘Last Breath,’ ” Liu continued. “I’m here now, and look, I’m not one to back down from a challenge.”

Clarkson was back on air March 4, though she offered no explanation as to why she was MIA. The following day, she was gone again and remained absent until she returned to taping her show March 13, per Deadline.

Between March 5 and March 13, several celebrities came to the rescue and filled in as guest hosts, including Roy Wood Jr., Wanda Sykes, Brooke Shields, Willie Geist and Molly Sims.

Clarkson’s back-to-back absences caused a frenzy, with viewers begging for answers about her disappearance.

“We love Kelly and respect her privacy, but y’all definitely need to put out some sort of statement because this is worrisome,” one person wrote on the show’s official Instagram page.

“I respect Kelly Clarkson’s privacy, but I am very concerned about her,” another worried fan wrote. “Please let us know if Kelly is OK,” begged a third.

Several theories began to swirl, with some chopping her absence up to preparing for her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which is set to run from July 4 through Nov. 15.

However, TMZ later reported that the talk show host was fine and would be back in the studio Thursday to tape Friday’s episode.

“She’s been dealing with a personal matter that does not directly involve her,” the outlet reported. Deadline also reported that Clarkson’s absence was due to a private matter.

The Post reached out to “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and NBC for comment but didn’t hear back.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show” has won five Emmys for Best Daytime Talk Series. Its 1,000 episode is scheduled to air March 20.
