Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin arrested for domestic violence against girlfriend

Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin had yet another run-in with the law recently.

Police arrested the rocker, 52, for domestic violence in Torrance, Calif., on March 11 at around 4 a.m. local time, according to online records. He was booked about an hour later for a felony charge.

A law enforcement source told TMZ on Saturday that Scantlin was taken into police custody after getting into a fight with his girlfriend. Cops were reportedly called to an apartment around 3 a.m. PST.

Police determined that the “Blurry” singer and unidentified woman had gotten into a verbal dispute that allegedly turned physical, per the outlet. The girlfriend allegedly had “visible marks” on her arms.

The authorities reportedly also found a “controlled substance” on Scantlin during a search at the time.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the felony charges were for domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance. A spokesperson for the Torrance Police Department could not be reached.

Scantlin’s lawyer, Robert Hankoff, tells Page Six exclusively, however, “There is an extensive amount of misinformation being reported.”

“There was no felony domestic violence arrest,” the attorney alleges. “He is dealing with a misdemeanor domestic violence case, and we expect he will be vindicated when all of the facts come to light.”

Page Six pointed out that online records show the “Drift & Drie” singer’s “charge level” was for a felony, so the lawyer claims it pertains to the controlled substance portion and not the domestic violence charge.

The records also show that Scantlin was in custody until March 15 when he was released on bond. Per TMZ, his bail was set to at $90,000.

The troubled rock star has faced several legal issues over the years. In 2015, he was arrested twice in one month for driving under the influence.

Most recently, in August 2024, Scantlin was reportedly pepper-sprayed by a police officer for resisting arrest during a traffic stop.

Cops reportedly also found out at the time that the “Control” singer had an outstanding arrest warrant for allegedly carrying a weapon at an airport.
