The No. 16 seeds in the South and East regions and the No. 11 seeds in the South and Midwest regions are up for grabs, and the first two teams to play in this year’s tournament will move on to face South region No. 1 seed Auburn on Thursday afternoon.

St. Francis (16-17) qualified for this year’s tournament with an automatic bid after winning the NEC. It’s their second appearance in the tournament and their first in 31 years. They enter today’s game against Alabama State (19-15) looking for their first NCAA Tournament win in program history.

The Alabama State Hornets are making their fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and their first since 2011. Like St. Francis, they’re also on the hunt for their first tournament win.
