When David Kopp had to think of a word that best describes Brandon Sproat, it was hard to narrow it down to just one.

After all, Sproat is viewed as the Mets’ top prospect by just about every list and pundit and he has all the tools to be the team’s next big thing.

He’s been described with innumerable superlatives in a career where he was drafted thrice and vaulted to Triple-A in his first season as a professional.

But when it comes down to it, the University of Florida pitching coach believes Sproat, even with all of his accolades and honors bestowed upon him and professional interest in him going back to high school, remains well-grounded.
