Elon Musk’s X, formerly Twitter, crashes for thousands of users

More than 40,000 users reported outages on Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday morning, according to DownDetector.com.

Users experienced reported crashes across the country.

A spike of reports that the app had crashed came in around 6 a.m., and thousands more poured in around 9:30 a.m., according to the crash tracking site.

Users experienced continuous buffering and an error message.

The app continuously buffered as it tried to load news and memes for users, and displayed an error message: “Posts aren’t loading right now.”

X did not immediately respond to a request for comment. 

Frustrated users quickly turned to Threads, a rival app launched by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta in 2023, to ask others whether they were experiencing the same glitches.
