A Bosa family reunion could be in the works.
The Chargers released star pass rusher Joey Bosa earlier this week after nine years with the team, and DraftKings Sportsbook oddsmakers like his chances of joining his younger brother, Nick, in the Bay Area.
The 49ers are a heavy +220 favorite to sign the five-time Pro Bowler, who would line up on opposite sides of the defensive line from his former AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year-winning sibling.
Joey Bosa next team odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
49ers | +220 |
Chargers | +400 |
Lions | +800 |
Bears | +900 |
Patriots | +900 |
Bengals | 10/1 |
Cardinals | 10/1 |
Commanders | 12/1 |
Eagles | 12/1 |
Raiders | 15/1 |
Oddsmakers are still giving Jim Harbaugh’s club a shot at bringing back Bosa, whose release will save the Chargers $25.36 million next season.
Bosa could return to the Chargers on a lesser deal than the $36 million cap hit he was owed before the move.
The Lions (+800), Bears (+900) and Patriots (+900) are also being given an outside shot at bringing in Bosa, but it appears to be a two-horse race for his services at the moment.
Bosa, 29, has spent his entire nine-year NFL career since being drafted out of Ohio State in 2016.
That year, Bosa won the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award with 10.5 sacks and 41 total tackles.

Injuries have plagued Bosa in recent season, playing in just 28 regular season games over the past three years.
“I feel like I’ve been letting my team down missing these games,” Bosa told reporters in October about his injuries. “Letting everybody down, letting coaches down. Letting the organization down. Letting myself down and it just sucks how these years have gone, the last few years.”
