Scheana Shay was happy to bring some levity to Brittany Cartwright’s life with her appearance on “The Masked Singer” after Jax Taylor went public with his cocaine addiction.
The “Vanderpump Rules” alum exclusively told Page Six after her elimination episode on Thursday that Cartwright is feeling “good” but what she’s been dealing with has “been really challenging for her.”
“The other day was a really tough one for her, and she’s getting hit from all angles,” she added, referencing when Taylor’s addiction news broke.
Shay, 39, said she recognized that Cartwright, 36, “really needed a good girls’ night” so she invited her –along with fellow Bravolebrities Janet Caperna and Ally Lewber — to her house to see her hit the stage as Bat on “The Masked Singer” and perform Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”
Shay said that Cartwright was “really excited” when she found out her friend was going to be on Fox’s masked singing competition show and concluded, “I think it was a nice little escape for her last night to just hang out with her friends and have this nice surprise.”
Taylor, 45, confessed he is an addict for the first time publicly on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast on Tuesday.
“I have substance issues, primarily with cocaine,” he said at the time. “Oh, that’s hard to say out loud. I’ve been dealing with this for I think the last — on and off, since I was 23. I’m 45.”
Taylor added, “I think a lot of people who watched ‘Vanderpump Rules’ over the years could kinda tell that I was on something.”
Cartwright said in a statement after the podcast episode dropped, “For the first time, I can speak openly about the extent of trauma he’s instilled on our family over the years.
“I’m trying to navigate this as best as I can for my son and I, but every day is still a challenge and very difficult. Jax has caused an enormous amount of damage, and I have very little trust in him at this point.”
The “Valley” star shares a 3-year-old son, Cruz, with her estranged husband. Last August, Cartwright filed for divorce after five years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
She requested sole legal and physical custody of their toddler, with her ex getting visitation rights.
Tom Sandoval — who, like Shay, appeared with the former couple on “Vanderpump Rules” — claimed on Wednesday night that all of his former co-stars knew about Taylor’s addiction issues “for years.”
“I mean, I’m around him. I’ve been around him over the years, obviously,” the reality star, 42, said on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
In November 2024, it was announced that Shay, Sandoval and the rest of the remaining original “Vanderpump Rules” cast members will no longer be returning to a revamped version of the Bravo show.
Shay, for her part, told Page Six that she breathed “a sigh of relief” when she found out that part of her life was ending, adding, “I’m excited for what’s next. I’m excited to be living in the Valley.”
The Bravo star then teased that she has been spending “a lot” of time with Cartwright and the other “Valley” cast members, so she may not be totally off the network just yet.
She told us, “I was around a lot. You never know what’s going to make it in, but I hung out with my friends in the Valley a lot this past summer.”
A premiere date for Season 2 of “The Valley” has not yet been announced. Meanwhile, “The Masked Singer” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
