Andrew Cuomo to receive large labor endorsement in NYC mayoral race — as talks of bid reach fever pitch

Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo is set to receive a labor union endorsement for the New York City mayoral race — as speculation that he’s going to imminently announce his bid hits fever pitch.

The ex-governor, who hasn’t even formally thrown his hat in the mayoral ring yet, will be backed by the New York City District Council of Carpenters, Politico reported Tuesday, citing sources.

The union threw their endorsement behind Mayor Eric Adams four years ago.

Cuomo, without having entered the race, has already lined up a string of endorsements in what appears to be a choreographed campaign rollout ahead of the June 24 Democratic primary.

US Rep. Ritchie Torres, former state Comptroller H. Carl McCall, the Staten Island Democratic Party and the Village Reform Democratic Club in Greenwich Village are among those to back him already.
