Kelly Killoren Bensimon, the “Real Housewives of New York” alum and top Douglas Elliman broker, has knocked down the price of her own home — which is now on the market as a $25,000-a-month rental.
The stunning duplex is in Manhattan’s famed Police Building, a Beaux-Arts beauty at the intersection of Soho, Little Italy and Chinatown.
Featured in Bravo’s “RHONY” reality show, the apartment was last asking $28,500 a month in 2023 when it found a renter whose lease ended.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home is at 240 Centre St. Bensimon’s ex-husband, the famed fashion shutterbug Gilles Bensimon, still lives next door.
“The building is a legacy property but it’s also a place where you come in for your first rental and it’s where you want to build your family and stay. It has white-glove service, a beautiful courtyard and a very warm, very New York feel, with a sophisticated, eclectic group of people,” said the broker.
“It’s a highly unusual building, where people never want to leave. It’s where my kids were raised,” said Bensimon, who added that she is “honored” to be the building’s broker specialist.
The home opens to a foyer and leads to a great room with 16-foot ceilings. Exquisite details include a massive arched Palladian window. There’s also an open chef’s kitchen and lots of closet space.
The building was completed in 1909. At the time, President Teddy Roosevelt — the city’s former police commissioner — was serving his last year of his two-term presidency. NYPD headquarters was based at at this building until 1973. It converted to condos in 1988.
Amenities include a full-time resident manager, a concierge, a doorman, a gym and a private garden.
