Amy Schumer is no longer on the Ozempic train — for a good reason.
On Wednesday, the “I Feel Pretty” star shared how she had a “horrible experience” taking the Type 2 diabetes drug, despite losing 30 pounds.
“I have this gene, GDF15, which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy,” Schumer told Howard Stern on his eponymous radio show.
“So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like, veteran. I was like, vomiting — and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they’re all good. God bless them,” she added.
Schumer said though she “lost 30 pounds so quick” and “looked great,” she couldn’t “lift my head off the pillow” from how nauseous she was on the drug.
In 2023, the comedian, 43, first opened up about her use of the weight loss drug and encouraged other celebrities to stop “lying” about taking it.
“You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop,” she told “everyone” hiding their use of the Type II diabetes drug on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” at the time.
“Be real with the people,” she continued. “When I got lipo, I said, ‘I got lipo,’” Schumer added.
The “Trainwreck” actress said she was “immediately invested” in the medication, but it was not “livable” for her to continue using longterm.
“I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn’t play with my son,” she explained, referencing her and her husband Chris Fischer’s 5-year-old, Gene.
“I was so skinny, and he’s throwing a ball at me, and [I couldn’t].”
Several stars have admitted to taking Ozempic or a similar drug to lose weight in recent years, including Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk, Macy Gray and Sharon Osbourne.
