The most surprising element of the Nets’ season so far was their unexpected hot start.
After Brooklyn was predicted to be the worst team in the league following the loss of Mikal Bridges ahead of the season, the Nets jumped out to a 4-6 record, featuring a win over the Bucks and close-call losses to the Eastern Conference leaders — the Cavaliers and Celtics.
They went as far as 10-15 with Dennis Schröder before his trade to the Warriors, which placed the Nets within striking distance of a play-in tournament spot in the East.
However, the unforeseen start isn’t the most impressive part of their 2024-25 season.
