A Coconut Grove, Florida estate with deep ties to American aviation legend Howard Hughes has listed for a staggering $55.5 million, The Post has learned.

The property last sold in 2021 for an undisclosed sum; it listed in 2020 for nearly $15 million, records show.

Built in 2003, the mansion sits on land once owned by the billionaire business magnate and is part of Hughes Cove, an exclusive eight-home community in Miami named in his honor.

Hughes was a multifaceted American figure, excelling as an aerospace engineer, a business tycoon, a film producer, an investor, a philanthropist and a pilot. (He was immortalized by Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Aviator” film.)

In his later years, his life took a more peculiar turn, marked by reclusiveness and eccentric behavior. These traits were influenced by his struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder, chronic pain from a near-fatal plane crash and progressive hearing loss. On April 5, 1976, he passed away at the age of 70.

The property has seen its share of other high-profile owners. Its most recent notable resident was N.J. Nicholas Jr., the former CEO of Time Warner, who sold the estate in 2018.

Adding to its star-studded location, billionaire property developer and Related Group founder Jorge Pérez is a next-door neighbor.

Spanning 10,000 square feet of interior space on a nearly 1-acre lot, the three-story home is designed for luxury living.

It features eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms and four half-baths, with sunlight streaming through expansive windows and elegant finishes throughout.

There is also a gourmet chef’s kitchen while the rest of the home blends opulence with a comfortable, modern aesthetic.

Outdoor spaces include a saltwater pool, a tranquil pond stocked with African Cichlids, a yoga pavilion, and a private sauna — while a 40-foot dock and a communal tennis court provide opportunities for recreation.

One of the home’s standout features is a coconut shell elevator — a whimsical detail that highlights the property’s unique charm.
