Jennifer Lopez hinted at struggling with her personal life while doing her best to be a good parent to her 16-year-old twins.
The actress spoke to Judy Robles, whom she plays in the new movie “Unstoppable,” about some of the similarities in their lives that attracted her to the role in a recent chat hosted by British Vogue.
“Being a mom and knowing what it is to want to give the best to your children and put forward your best face all the time, but also be struggling as a woman in relationships and in life with your own dreams and your own aspirations and what that means and that feels like,” the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer explained.
The 55-year-old singer also described they were similar because Robles’ kids gushed about how their mom “made everything fun” and “joyful” for them while dealing with struggling in her marriage at the time.
“To me, I was like, OK, there’s so much going on here and I understood it,” Lopez added. “As a mom, you always want to put your best foot forward, you want to lift them up but that doesn’t stop you from being a human being who struggles.”
Later in their conversation, Lopez described feeling “very deeply” about Robles’ marriage hardships because she’s “been in the same spot at times.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t be giving this person a chance, you know what I mean? Maybe I should end this right now and go back. I don’t think there’s a woman on Earth who hasn’t been in that position — or even men!” she commented, seemingly alluding to her failed relationships after becoming a mom in 2008.
Lopez — who shares Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony — ended her two-year marriage with Ben Affleck in August 2024.
The now-former couple first met on the set of “Gigli” in 2001 before getting engaged the following year.
However, they never made it down the aisle and Lopez went on to marry Anthony while Affleck wed Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children: Violet, 19, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
After Lopez ended her engagement to Alex Rodriguez, she reunited with Affleck, 52.
The “Gigli” co-stars went on to have two wedding ceremonies in 2022 before ending their marriage over the summer.
Despite their breakup, they remain involved with the two being photographed entering the Soho House in West Hollywood, Calif., for a quick 30-minute meeting on Monday.
Page Six previously exclusively revealed that the “Gone Girl” star and Lopez plan to stay “connected” post-divorce.
“They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved,” an insider shared.
“Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids.”
The exes share a “mutual respect for another,” which is “not something that goes away” overnight.
Earlier this month, Affleck, Garner and Lopez came together last week to support their kids at a school play.
The trio arrived at the school event for Seraphina and Emme.
