He will try to fix you.
Shakira relied on Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for support after her breakup from Gerard Piqué.
“He was there for me when I got separated and was heartbroken,” the Colombian singer told Rolling Stone for the “Fix You” singer’s cover story published Friday.
“He was checking in every day to see how I was doing, sending me words of support and strength and wisdom.”
Shakira, 47, added of her longtime pal, also 47, with whom she performed at the Global Citizen Festival in 2017, “I see him as a person who sees life through a different lens, who’s sensitive to other people’s needs and very empathetic, very empathetic.”
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer called it quits with Piqué — with whom she share sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9 — in 2022 amid rumors that the soccer star had been unfaithful with his now-girlfriend, Clara Chía Martí.
The former couple said in a joint statement at the time, “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy.”
Shakira has since opened up about her “incredibly difficult” split and written a diss song about her ex.
She also reflected on how she felt she had put her career on hold for Pique, 37, throughout their 11-year relationship and also said she felt “betrayed” by him when her father was very ill.
Martin, for his part, has been through the demise of a long-term relationship in the public eye before.
The “Sky Full of Stars” singer and Gwyneth Paltrow famously announced their decision to divorce in 2014 with a statement that referred to their split as a “conscious uncoupling.”
“We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time,” the exes — who tied the knot in 2003 and share kids Apple Martin, 20, and Moses Martin, 18 — said at the time.
“We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”
Chris and Paltrow, 52, have since been able to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship — even as they have each moved on with new partners.
The “Viva La Vida” singer has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Dakota Johnson, to whom he proposed years ago. However, the couple was recently plagued by their own split rumors.
Paltrow has been married to writer and director Brad Falchuk since 2018.
