James Kennedy’s alleged “temper” and outbursts were always a point of concern for his girlfriend Ally Lewber’s inner circle, a source tells The Post.
The “Vanderpump Rules” alum, 32, was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence Tuesday after allegedly getting into an argument with a woman. The female’s identity has not been revealed and it’s unclear if Lewber was involved, but the couple attended Kathy Hilton’s annual holiday party earlier that night.
A source connected to the pair told The Post that Lewber’s close friends were “concerned” about her dating Kennedy when they got together in 2022 based on his behavior on “Vanderpump Rules.”
The insider added that their worries lessened the more they got to know him, adding that her pals thought Lewber was “good for James,” but “his temper has always been an issue.” However, a separate insider said this is “not normal behavior for him.”
A third source told The Post they’ve allegedly witnessed Kennedy and Lewber get into “massive yelling fights” but nothing physical. They also shared that he “calmed down on his drinking, which really helped” their relationship.
When it comes to their alleged altercations, the source said Lewber “stands up for herself” and “isn’t passive like Raquel [Leviss],” whom Kennedy was engaged to for seven months before they broke up in 2021. The insider also shared that Kennedy “is a good guy and has tried to change.”
Kennedy was taken into custody and booked after allegedly grabbing a woman in an argument; however, sources told TMZ that officers didn’t see any visible injuries on the female.
The Post caught up with Lewber last week, and she shared that her relationship with Kennedy was “better than ever.”
“We’ve been the best that we’ve ever been. And I think it probably has to do with the fact that we haven’t been filming in a while,” she said.
While Lewber has been quiet on Kennedy’s arrest, one of his ex-girlfriends addressed it head-on.
Pregnant Kristen Doute, 41, whom he dated off-and-on between 2013 and 2015, posted a story about his arrest on Thursday and wrote one word: “Finally” as the caption.
The alleged incident comes on the heels of Bravo announcing that “Vanderpump Rules” is returning for Season 12 with a new cast.
Lewber shared with The Post that she was looking forward to not having cameras on her and Kennedy 24/7.
“I think it’ll be nice to just feel like we have some privacy and, like, [we] can actually focus on us,” she said.
The Post has reached out to Lewber and Kennedy for comment.
