Lynne Spears wished daughter Britney Spears a happy birthday amid their years-long estrangement.
On Monday, Lynne, 69, commemorated her daughter’s special day with a sweet tribute on Facebook.
“Happy Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter, Britney! You will always have that beautiful smile!” she captioned a throwback photo of Britney as a toddler.
“Wishing you the happiest birthday ever! ,” she added.
The Princess of Pop turned 43 earlier this week and “treated herself to a fun vacation” in Mexico.
While the “Gimme More” singer chose to be with friends this year, she spent her 42nd birthday alongside her mom and her brother, Bryan.
At the time, a source told TMZ that the mother-daughter duo was “definitely in a better place” after becoming estranged over the singer’s 13-year conservatorship — which gave her father, Jamie, full control of her financial, professional, personal and medical affairs.
Similarly, a source told People that Lynne was “really making an effort to be in Britney’s life.”
“Her mom does love her. There is no doubt about that,” the source said this time last year, noting that the matriarch has been “very apologetic” and “takes full blame” for their fractured relationship.
“Britney likes spending time with [Lynne],” the source said. “They have a complicated relationship, but it seems they both need each other.”
However, the insider said the “Circus” singer was still “hurt” by her mom’s role in the conservatorship.
They also had another falling out in May when Britney got into a fight with then-boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and blamed her mom for stirring up the drama.
Britney later revealed she missed her family — including her mom. However, we were told she has no desire to reconnect with her estranged father.
In December 2023, an insider told us the pop star would “never forgive him for the abuses and trauma he caused.”
The father-daughter duo had been duking it out in court over his alleged mismanagement of her finances, among other things, for years.
In her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” Britney claimed her parents believed she was “put on the earth for no other reason than to help their cash flow.”
Elsewhere in the book, she likened her dad to a cult leader, claimed he would constantly body shame her and even controlled her diet.
While Britney’s conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, the case wasn’t settled until April 2024.
However, the pop star believes there was “no justice” for the ways her family “hurt” her.
