Colorado cop grabs a kid’s bike out of a family’s yard to chase down suspect in hot pursuit

Training wheels of justice!

A quick-thinking Colorado cop commandeered a child’s bike to chase down and nab a fleeing suspected felon, footage of the hot pursuit shows.

The thrilling chase unfolded when Lone Tree Police officer Jacob Tarr was trying to apprehend the alleged perp over a theft in the Denver neighborhood on Nov. 23, authorities said.

The suspect — who hasn’t been named publicly — took off running and jumped several fences before stealing a kid’s motorized scooter as his escape ride.

Tar’s bodycam captured him quickly hopping on a small green bike from a family’s yard and pedaling off down the street in pursuit of the alleged thief.

A neighbor’s Ring doorbell camera also filmed the moment the officer tore by on the comically tiny bike.

Tarr managed to catch up and detain the suspect a short time later with the help of other officers, cops said.

“When you’re a police officer on a mission to protect your citizens, nothing is going to stand in your way, even if your squad car is not near and your suspect is speeding away on a scooter,” the police department said in a statement.

“When it comes to the men and women in blue and their vow to protect and serve, it’s not about the wheels you’re riding, but the heart and dedication behind them.”

The suspect, who had three outstanding warrants — including one for an armed robbery — was later slapped with a felony theft charge.
