The Montreal police arson squad has been called in after a car caught fire in Pointe-Claire early Monday.
Police said they received reports around 2:40 a.m. that a car was ablaze in a driveway on Hastings Ave. near Empress Ave.
Firefighters extinguished the flames but the car is a total loss.
Because the cause of the fire remains unclear, the case has been turned over the arson squad.
