The SQ is investigating.
An inmate in his 30s was found dead Sunday morning in his cell at the Rivière-des-Prairies detention centre, the Sûreté du Québec said Sunday.
Police were called to the east-end facility and the man’s death was declared, said SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie. The death is considered suspicious, she said, and the force is investigating.
Investigators with the SQ’s division of crimes against the person and forensic identification technicians were on the scene Sunday, she said.
