Someone get Al Roker a boost!
The infamous “Today” show weatherman, 70, left fans cackling after he appeared in a tiny chair next to Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb during the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Roker sat alongside his co-stars at the festive desk for the annual NBC broadcast — but all anyone could talk about was the obvious height difference between the trio, with many watchers accusing producers of doing him “dirty.”
The legendary TV icon looked mini-sized next to Guthrie, 52, and Kotb, 60, during Hoda’s last Thanksgiving Parade coverage before her retirement, and the reactions from fans are hilarious.
“If anyone is hiring please let me know. i was the person at nbc who made sure al roker had a normal sized chair,” one X (formerly Twitter) user quipped of the awkward appearance.
“Can someone get Al Roker a booster seat??” another joked. “Why they got my mans looking like this Someone get Al Roker an encyclopedia to sit on our something my gosh,” wrote a third.
Someone else suggested producers may have accidentally sabotaged Roker by sticking him in an itty bitty chair at the end of the table.
“They really did Al Roker dirty with that little chair. He’s a national treasure and should be in a nice, tall, comfy chair in the middle,” the person said, in part.
“They left Al Roker in the dryer too long!” another X user chimed in.
Despite appearances during the segment, in real life, Roker is just a little smaller than Guthrie or Kotb. He stands at 5’7″ while Guthrie is 5’10” and Kotb is 5’9″ according to Parade.com.
Roker’s chair catastrophe isn’t the only thing that parade viewers are talking about.
The East Coast weatherman also made a major fumble when he accidentally revealed a major spoiler of the “Wicked” movie while talking to Idina Menzel, 53.
“You had a cameo in ‘Wicked,’ in the movie,” Roker said, to which Menzel informed him, “You’re not supposed to tell anyone about the cameo! Cat’s out of the bag.”
While the star has posted several photos on her social media in costume, fans didn’t know what to expect before stepping into the theater.
Menzel famously played Elphaba on Broadway with Kristin Chenoweth, 56, as Glinda in 2003, when the musical first came to the stage.
“Wicked: Part One” features Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. The movie — out in theaters now — earned a whopping $114 million at the domestic box office during its debut weekend.
