CPKC Holiday Train brings joy of season, raises funds for Sask. communities

The CPKC Holiday Train returns to Saskatchewan communities in December, raising funds for local food banks along its route.

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train will make its way across southern Saskatchewan starting on Dec. 6.

In Saskatchewan, it will raise money ad collect donations of non-perishable food for local food banks, CPKC said in a new release on Thursday.

“All donations stay local to help feed those in need in the community, and the food bank will have a station set up at each site to collect donations,” the release said.

Each stop the train makes on its tour of the province will feature a free, half-hour concert on the holiday-decorated train stage by Canadian singer-songwriters Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish.

Saskatchewan stops include:

Dec. 6:

  • Moosomin, 12 p.m. at 1001 Front Street
  • Broadview, 2 p.m. at CPKC station on Front Street
