Three disgruntled graveyard workers in Tennessee went on a rampage because they’d just gotten axed — hopping in a company truck and mowing down 170 tombstones in a grim display of humanity.
The cruel carnage Monday at New Park Cemetery in Memphis had Jeff Roberts, the panicked owner, jumping in his personal car to try to stop the trio — but not before they caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage, WREG reported.
Roberts said he has alerted a monument supplier that he might have to place an emergency order — and hired temp crews to set all the tombstones right by Christmas.
He did not say why the three employees were fired, but he declined to press charges because he was “concerned they could do more damage in the moment.”
“We are reaching out to families whose monuments need replacing to let them know. We regret that this situation occurred and feel for the families who are affected,” he added.
The headstones cost about $1,000 each.
