‘Vanderpump Rules’ scraps entire cast for Season 12 in bombshell move after ‘Scandoval’ drama

Raise your glasses high for the end of an era.

Bravo announced on Tuesday that “Vanderpump Rules” is returning for Season 12 — but with a brand-new cast.

The new show will feature Lisa Vanderpump and a new group of “close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.”

Season 12 begins production next year, but a premiere date and the cast has yet to announced.

“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,” executive producer Alex Baskin said in a statement. “With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together.”

Lala Kent reacted to the news on social media in a heartfelt post.

“Where to begin,” Kent, 34, penned via Instagram on Tuesday. “I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who made her way to L.A. I would introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend referred to me as Lala, my nickname quickly stuck.”

Reflecting on joining the show for Season 4 in 2015, Kent said “Sur was a place that became home.”

“I found myself not only sipping on vodka sodas there, but behind a hostess stand… it still to this day is the most intimidating job I’ve ever had. A short time later the opportunity to be on a show called Vanderpump Rules landed in front of me. I have such mixed feelings right now. It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception. I want to say thank you for rocking with us for so many years.”

The reality star added, “This show changed my whole life. I’m unbelievably grateful for every moment. I’m unbelievably grateful for Bravo, for NBCU, for our crew, the entire cast, and most importantly all of you. We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell of.”

Katie Maloney posted a picture of herself from the early days of the show writing, “It’s a mixed bag. But I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years.”

Vanderpump, 64, confirmed the news in her own statement.

“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears and everything in between,” the restaurant owner said Tuesday. “I can’t thank enough those who have shared their lives. How I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of ‘Vanderpump Rules.’”

The news comes a day after Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz announced their second restaurant Schwartz & Sandy’s is closing its doors at the end of December after two years.

“VanderpumpRules” first debuted in 2013, starting off as a spinoff of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The show originally followed Vanderpump and her then-staff at her restaurant SUR, which included Scheana Shay, Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor and Stassi Schroeder, as they navigated professional and personal drama.

After a decade on the air, the shocking news hit in March 2023 that Sandoval, 42, and Ariana Madix, 39, broke up after 10 years together due to his affair with James Kennedy’s ex-fiancée, Rachel Leviss.

The affair dubbed Scandoval led to a cast divide with Madix refusing to film with Sandoval and other cast members being upset by that.

Bravo then decided “Vanderpump Rules” will take an extended pause before filming season 12.
