Trump transition team member says former Rep. Mike Rogers won’t be next FBI boss

President-elect Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino revealed Friday that former Rep. Mike Rogers was out of the running to be FBI director.

Rogers, 61, was rumored to have been on the shortlist to become head of the bureau — but Scavino said Trump threw cold water on the prospect when asked about the ex-Michigan Republican rep’s standing.

“Just spoke to President Trump regarding Mike Rogers going to the FBI. It’s not happening — In his own words, ‘I have never even given it a thought.’ Not happening,” Scavino wrote on X.

A source close to the transition process separately confirmed to The Post that Rogers was no longer in the running to oversee the bureau.
