If you want to get to know me, you need to understand one thing: The Sahara Desert has nothing on my lips.
All my life, these bad boys have chapped, cracked, peeled and sometimes even bled despite my chugging water, turning on humidifiers and spending tons of money on products people swear work.
That viral Laneige lip mask? I own it in three flavors. Homemade lip scrubs made of sugar and olive oil? In my fridge. I’ve tried everything from classics like Aquaphor and straight-up petroleum jelly to specialty salves you can only get from high-end stores for prices I’m embarrassed to admit.
And while everything has worked to a point, nothing would eversoothe my lips for longer than the time it took the product to wear off. But then I discovered Lanolips 101 Ointment, which happens to be on sale right now at Amazon ahead of Black Friday.

The cult-favorite beauty product from Australian brand Lano contains lanolin, which is described on its website as a “deeply moisturizing oil naturally occurring in sheep’s wool.”
I apply it every night before bed and when I wake up in the morning, my lips are noticeably softer and more hydrated.
My favorite part of the product, however, is that it doesn’t just put a bandage on the larger issue of dryness; it actually encourages the dead skin to slough off so a soft, plump surface remains.
It’s a multipurpose balm, so I also rub it into my cuticles, elbows and anywhere else I feel is drier than normal. And in addition to the original formula, it also comes in fun flavors like strawberry, peach, glazed donut — many of which are similarly marked down at the moment.

My obsession with the salve runs so deep that I probably have 10 tubes open and being used at any given time. I keep them in my bedside table, my purse, my car, my overnight bag, my desk drawer, my makeup bag, my work bag and probably other hidden locations that I can’t remember.
This compulsive purchasing is made possible by the fact that the product is super affordable to begin with — and often on sale, as it is right this very moment.

Lindsay Lohan is one of the celebrities who understands my enthusiasm, as she listed the 101 Ointment as one of her must-haves in an interview with The Post, explaining, “This is my favorite, because it keeps my lips so hydrated.”
Gigi Hadid is another A-lister who swears by the product, showcasing it in a 2021 Vogue video.
“I think all-purpose ointments are great,” she said in the clip before dabbing the stuff on her lips and cheeks.
