It usually helps if a car company’s big relaunch is paired with, you know, an actual car, unlike the 30-second ad we got Tuesday
- Following the reveal of its new logo(s), Jag late November teased a shot of—something
- The British marque launched a bizarre new rebrand-focused marketing campaign earlier this week
- It plans to stop building cars altogether while it retools to debut an all-new all-EV line
The photo, posted to social media accounts November 20, appears to show the rear haunches of a vehicle, perhaps one which will be part of a broader brand launch next month in Florida. It shows a coupe-like car with sharp lines and no rear window — a detail on which we would spend time pontificating, if not for the fact the crew at Polestar have already dragged that surprising design decision into the mainstream.
Is this teal-coloured angular moonshot actually a coupe? Is it a “coupe-ified” SUV? Is it the long-touted EV sedan we’ve heard so much about the past few months? As gearheads and fans of brash designs, we sincerely hope it is the first thing. Relaunching the brand with a polygon-esque take on the Vantage V12 would be a tremendous start, though it is all but certain a future (all-electric) Jag brand will have crossovers and SUVs in its lineup. The market demands it be so.
