John Stamos hits out at ‘embarrassing’ critics over Dave Coulier bald cap controversy: ‘I’m so shocked’

John Stamos has fired back at “embarrassing” haters who slammed him for wearing a bald cap to support his “Full House” co-star Dave Coulier following his cancer diagnosis.

Coulier confirmed last week that he’s undergoing chemotherapy for his “very aggressive” stage 3 cancer battle.

But Stamos’ well-intentioned gesture of donning a bald cap in a photo alongside the actor, who had lost his hair due to chemo, instantly landed him in hot water.

“I’m so shocked. It’s just embarrassing,” he told TMZ this week about the backlash he had received.

“What they should be doing instead of making silly little videos or doing comments, they should call their doctor, make an appointment — like that’s the whole point of this,” he added. “It’s been Dave’s message.”

“I’m embarrassed for people that they waste time on this. All I was doing was cheering up a friend,” Stamos, 61, added.

Stamos also said that the duo, who had been friends since the 1980s, had an “incredible” time together after news of Coulier’s health woes came to light.

Coulier announced he was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma on Nov. 13.

The father of one is doing six rounds of chemo treatment and is expected to finish in Feb. 2025.

Coulier, 65, said he learned of his diagnosis five weeks ago after suffering a bad cold and noticing swelling in his groin area.

One week after Coulier announced his cancer diagnosis, Stamos posted an Instagram in which he wore a bald cap while standing next to Coulier, whose head was shaved. Stamos said he put on the bald cap and Photoshopped himself to show “solidarity” with his pal.

“Nothing like throwing on a bald cap and flexing some Photoshop skills to show some love and solidarity with my bro @dcoulier,” he captioned a series of photos earlier this week.

“You’re handling this with so much strength and positivity—it’s inspiring. I know you’re going to get through this, and I’m proud to stand with you every step of the way. I love you.”

Needless, to say, the well-intentioned gesture didn’t go down too well with fans on social media.

Soon after, Coulier defended his pal, saying the gesture was simply how “we are handling a very tough time.”

Stamos was among the first to show support on social media for Coulier after the actor announced his cancer diagnosis.

“My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all,” Stamos wrote alongside several snaps of the pair from over the years.
