The order had been issued to those within an 800-metre zone surrounding the derailment at the Canadian National rail yard.
The order was rescinded at 4:30 a.m. Since Thursday night, the order applied only to a small sector south of Route 116.
The city also announced that Route 116 has completely reopened to traffic in both directions, which is good news for those motorists who use the thoroughfare during rush hours.
The derail occurred a little before 9 a.m. Thursday and involved eight trains car, one of which began to leak its load of hydrogen peroxide. There was no fire or reported injuries, although three CN workers were taken to hospital as a precaution.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
CN teams had began cleanup operations Thursday and started to move train cars not involved in the derailment.
