Football’s never-ending onslaught has killed any remaining thrills

It’s mid-November and you know the scene. The weather has gone south, so Saturday at noon through Monday night you’ve watched football.

Heck, there are even Tuesday and Wednesday events posing as “college games” for ESPN money and to provide ESPN BET action for those who start to tremor if they don’t have a bad-odds investment. Thursday nights reset the NFL TV cycle.

By Monday’s end, there isn’t a moist eye left in the house.
