Firebomb thrown at Montreal North apartment

While the apartment was occupied at the time of the attack there were no injuries reported.

Montreal police arson investigators have been called in after a firebomb was thrown early Thursday at an apartment in the borough of Montreal North.

The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at a ground-floor apartment on Cobourg Ave. near Henri-Bourassa Blvd. While the apartment was occupied at the time of the attack, there were no injuries reported.

Montreal firefighters brought the fire under control by the time police arrived and damage to the apartment was slight. Evidence found that the flames were sparked by a firebomb, which led to the arson squad being called in to investigate.

There were no arrests reported by sunrise Thursday.
