House holding hearing to ‘pull back the curtain’ on UFO research programs

An official US government hearing today says it will “pull back the curtain” on secret UFO programs.

Entitled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth,” the event is set to reveal information on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) — as UFOs are officially known — research programs conducted by the US government, and undisclosed findings they have yielded.

The hearing will hear testimony from former Department of Defense official Luis Elizondo, who in his written testimony said: “Let me be clear: UAP are real. Advanced technologies not made by our Government — or any other government — are monitoring sensitive military installations around the globe.

“Furthermore, the US is in possession of UAP technologies, as are some of our adversaries. I believe we are in the midst of a multi-decade, secretive arms race — one funded by misallocated taxpayer dollars and hidden from our elected representatives and oversight bodies.”

Dr. Tim Gallaudet, a retired Rear Admiral in the US Navy, refers in his written testimony to “a new realization that we are not the only advanced intelligence in the universe,” and states that “unelected officials in the US government do not have an exclusive right to this knowledge about the nature of reality.”

In July 2022, the Pentagon set up the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), to handle reports of UAPs.

The AARO website provides information, including photos and videos, on resolved UAP cases as they are declassified and approved for public release.

It also includes unresolved sightings, such as the so-called “GOFAST” video of a US Navy F/A-18 jet crew’s encounter with an UAP.

A Committee on Oversight and Accountability government announcement on the event details: “The hearing will examine the Department of Defense’s (DoD) reluctance to appropriately declassify material on UAPs, and ways to make sure the American public is better informed on this topic.”

Reps. Nancy Mace and Glenn Grothman, both Republicans, are jointly chairing the hearing. They said: “This is our second hearing on the topic of UAPs and the American people are tired of the obfuscation and refusal to release information by the federal government.

“Americans deserve to understand what the government has learned about UAP sightings, and the nature of any potential threats these phenomena pose. We can only ensure that understanding by providing consistent, systemic transparency.

“We look forward to hearing from expert witnesses on ways to shed more light and bring greater accountability to this issue.”
