Chris Martin paused his entire gig in Melbourne to help a young boy being ‘squished’ in the crowd.
Coldplay was performing in Sydney as part of the Music of the Spheres World Tour when the Yellow hitmaker spotted a struggling gig-goer.
This Australian leg has been plagued by mishaps as bandmate Guy Berryman was struck down with illness and couldn’t perform due to ‘vomiting’.
Sydney’s show was the first after Chris took a tumble in Melbourne, falling through a gap in the stage as he performed.
Keeping an eye on the crowd, the 47-year-old star spotted a young boy in the standing section, surrounded by adults dancing.
‘You can sit right here, you don’t have to be squeezed,’ Chris said in a clip posted to TikTok by fellow fan rubygxpim.
The little boy was lifted over the barrier by the crowd and placed safely in the barricaded section next to security.
‘You don’t have to be squished by all these adults,’ Chris added. ‘Sit right there my little brother…better? We’ll take care of you man.’
Before continuing with the concert, the My Universe singer double-checked if the boy needed a ‘coke’ — jokingly adding ‘the drink I mean.’
The TikTok post was captioned: ‘Chris tried to help the boy find a spot that wasn’t crowded and offered him the best view possible.’
‘Such a class act,’ commented baobaobeauty as Wilma Haring said ‘Super involved with his audience/fans.’
Pietervancappelle3 added: ‘Respect, This man not only cares about his wages, but also about his audience.’
The original poster replied: ‘Totally agree! It’s great to see someone who really cares about his audience, not just the money.’
Last week, Chris told the crowd their bassist Guy had no chance of performing after becoming ill as co-producer and engineer, Bill Rahko, stepped in.
The Fix You hitmaker shared: ‘I have to say, thank you so much for coming to our show today. It’s a shame but we waited for the last minute to tell you that our beautiful bass player Guy is very, very sick.
‘And will not be (playing) for the first time. I’m sorry for you guys down here who are waiting to see Guy. He’s not going to be able to play today.
‘We’ll have a slightly different show and we’ll do our best to make it amazing, and I know that it will be amazing because we’re in Melbourne with all of you beautiful people.’
Coldplay have a handful of shows left in Sydney and Auckland before the end of the year, with the tour continuing in Abu Dhabi in January.
