Kimberly Van Der Beek is in her husband’s corner.
James Van Der Beek’s wife left a sweet comment on the actor’s Instagram post over the weekend revealing his colorectal cancer diagnosis.
“I love you baby,” the 42-year-old gushed.
Hours before the “Dawson’s Creek” alum, 47, went public with his health update, Kimberly tagged him in an Instagram Story upload about Northern cardinals.
The graphic called the birds “romantic,” explaining that they “mate for life, travel together, sing before nesting and feed each other seed beak-to-beak during courtship.”
Alongside the post, Kimberly wrote, “Hi baby @vanderjames.”
She and the “Varsity Blues” star have been married since August 2010 and share six children — Olivia, 14, Joshua, 12, Annabel, 10, Emilia, 8, Gwendolyn, 6, and Jeremiah, 2.
James included pictures of the little ones in his shocking announcement on Sunday, which he had previously been “dealing with privately.”
He wrote, “I’m in a good place and feeling strong. It’s been quite the initiation, and I’ll tell you more when I’m ready.”
James noted that he had been “getting treatment and dialing in [his] overall health with greater focus than ever before.”
He concluded, “We roll with it, taking each surprise as a signpost, pointing us toward a greater destiny than we would have discovered without divine intervention. Please know that my family and I deeply appreciate all the love and support.”
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum lives in Texas with his family, where they moved in 2020 from Los Angeles.
At the time, James provided his followers with a list of reasons why they had “landed” in the state — including that his kids couldn’t fly a kite at the park near their Beverly Hills home.
“Sometimes a fuller life begins with an empty house,” he wrote via Instagram before they road-tripped to their new property.
“Leaving Los Angeles incredibly grateful for all the friends and memories we’ve made here,” James gushed. “Onto the next big adventure! ❤️😊”
