Hyundai teases Ioniq 9 three-row electric SUV ahead of November

The large sport-utility rocks “Aerosthetic” styling and focuses on space and comfort for all passengers in all rows

  • Hyundai’s Ioniq 9 marks the brand’s first large EV SUV, emphasizing spacious, three-row design
  • Unique “Aerosthetic” styling draws from aerodynamic and aesthetic influences, enhancing passenger comfort
  • Ioniq 9 launch aligns with Hyundai’s electrification goals, targeting 2 million EV sales by 2030

In an approach termed “Aerosthetic,” Hyundai has blended into the exterior aerodynamic elements some intrinsic visual appeal, drawing inspiration from the streamlined form of boats. The Ioniq 9 features a distinct single-curve roofline and an extended wheelbase, which add to the vehicle’s spacious interior.

Design cues also pay homage to Korean culture, incorporating side character lines inspired by the traditional hanbok garment. The front lighting includes Hyundai’s distinctive Parametric Pixels, while a multi-spoke wheel design enhances the Ioniq 9’s overall look.

Beginning today, Hyundai will gradually release additional content and images on its social media channels, leading up to the full Ioniq 9 unveiling in November. The introduction of this new SUV is part of Hyundai’s plans to continue its electrification efforts, targeting two million EV sales by 2030.
