A baby-faced teenager has been arrested after he was caught on camera brandishing a massive machete to “antagonize” voters at a Florida early polling site, cops said.
Caleb James Williams, 18, was nabbed after he allegedly wielded the 23-inch blade at two voters at the Neptune Beach voting site near Jacksonville just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The teen is accused of waving the knife above his head in an intimidating manner at a 71-year-old woman who had been waiting in line, police said.
A 54-year-old woman standing beside the elderly woman told cops that she also feared for her safety and snapped a photo of the teen flashing his braces as he flaunted the machete.
“I‘m extremely angry at this,” Neptune Beach Police Chief Michael J. Key said at a news conference.
“It’s is one thing to exercise your First Amendment right which we so dearly take as a sacred right, but the moment you move to violence, that goes out the window,” he continued.
“To say I’m disturbed is an understatement. I’m mad.”
When cops arrived at the scene, they found Williams and seven other youngsters gathered around a truck with MAGA flags.
Witnesses said the rowdy group had allegedly arrived at the polling site chanting former President Donald Trump’s name.
“The group was there for no other reason but for ill intentions to cause a disturbance,” Key said.
Williams was taken into custody and slapped with aggravated assault and improper exhibition of a firearm or dangerous weapon charges.
