Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster never shied away from their close bond.
The pair previously gushed over each other numerous times when they were promoting their Broadway show “The Music Man” in 2022, before they became a rumored couple.
During an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” in July 2022, Foster, 49, talked about how close she had become with Jackman, 56, and the pre-show ritual they started.
“We call it carpet chat,” she shared. “We hang out in my dressing room before every show and just catch up. Somehow we ended up sitting … maybe because my dressing room’s a mess, we sit on the carpet.”
“It’s such a wonderful thing,” Foster added. “We’ve become really good friends and we just talk and catch up on our day. That’s been one of the best parts of the whole thing, that I’ve made this wonderful new friend.”
Foster and Jackman were co-stars in “The Music Man,” which ran on New York City’s Great White Way from December 2021 to January 2023.
They played Marian Paroo and Professor Harold Hill, respectively, onstage.
Last week, it was reported that Jackman and Foster are “in love” but have been keeping their romance a secret.
A source told Page Six that the actors “spend all of their free time together” and “are a regular couple,” but to stay under the radar, “they sneak around.”
Foster recently filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, “Ocean’s Eleven” screenwriter Ted Griffin. The exes have an adopted daughter together. She also put her Tuxedo Park, NY, home on the market for $2.2 million.
Jackman, meanwhile, announced he was separating from his wife of 27 years, actress Deborra-Lee Furness, in Sept. 2023. The former couple share adopted children Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
It’s been reported that Furness, 68, had “suspicions” about Jackman’s relationship with Foster, and that their relationship “is not a secret to her.”
Jackman and Foster, in fact, were very open about how they formed a tight relationship when they were Broadway co-stars.
On “Late Night With Seth Meyers” in May 2022, Foster said she was “having the time of my life” working with the “Deadpool and Wolverine” star.
“It’s a dream come true. Truly,” she added.
Both stars also admitted at the time that they were “intimidated” by each other.
“I’ve watched everything she’s done. It’s amazing,” Jackman said about Foster.
