A gunman in a Halloween mask opened fire at the Four Seasons in Midtown Atlanta Tuesday, then threw furniture and his weapon off the balcony — sparking a lockdown at the $600-a-night celeb hotspot hotel.
Police took the gunman into custody about 4:30 p.m. — about two hours after the first report of a shooting.
Police later lifted a shelter-in-place order, but have asked people to continue to avoid the area surrounding the hotel.
FOX 5 Atlanta obtained photos of the gunman on a balcony with their hands up.
However, he then began to throw furniture off the balcony. They also threw his handgun to the street below, police said.
The suspect appeared to be wearing a rubber Halloween-style mask in the shape of some kind of animal’s face during the rampage.
It remains unclear what led to the outburst of violence.
The average price of a room at the Four Seasons could cost up to $590 a night and it’s known as a major hotspot for celebs who are in town for the city’s thriving film and TV industry.
