Details are scarce for now, but we expect retina-detaching levels of acceleration and a towering price tag
- Cadillac’s 2026 Lyriq-V will be its first electric SUV to earn the brand’s ‘V’ stripes
- Details are scant, but straight-line performance is very likely to be blindingly fast
- The model’s introduction is planned for the 2025 calendar year
Gearheads know when Cadillac adds the ‘V’ badge to its wares, horsepower goes up and acceleration times go down. Starting next year, the brand’s electric push and performance heritage will be whipped together in a fusion dish of acceleration and tortured tires. Set to be called the “Lyriq-V,” this machine will lead the Cadillac charge into hyperactive all-electric performance.
Details are scarce in terms of horsepower and torque – or even battery size and motor count – but a perusal of the teaser video released by Cadillac offers a few clues.
A close-up of the Lyriq-V multi-spoke wheels shows a set of Brembo-branded brake calipers, suggesting this whip will stop as aggressively as it will accelerate. A ‘V’ button sprouts from a spoke on the steering wheel, suggesting special driving modes to take advantage of what is sure to be devastating power figures.
More details on the Lyriq-V should come out in early 2025, ahead of its full debut.
