Fashion emergency!

Designer Bach Mai — whose looks have been worn by Kate Beckinsale, Venus Williams, Heidi Klum and ballerina Misty Copeland — checked himself out of the hospital on Monday to make it to this evening’s A-list CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony.

We hear he will be escorting “Charlie’s Angels” actress Lucy Liu as his date.

Mai was hospitalized on Sunday night after returning from Korea where he was working on looks as part of an Innovation grant that the CFDA and Genesis House AAPI Design awarded to him.

A source tells us that he got injured in a packed bar while abroad and cut his leg below his knee.

“Bach had a night off and went sighting-seeing and went to a crowded bar,” says the insider. “It was completely packed and he walked into something. He couldn’t see and doesn’t even know what it was. He trekked his way through the next couple of days and flew back to NYC and found out he had an infection.”

Mai was held at the hospital overnight on Sunday and given antibiotics in an IV drip.

The awards honor the best in fashion for the year and will take place at the Museum of Natural History. Erykah Badu is set to take the Fashion Icon Award and Michael Kors,  photographer Annie Leibovitz, and Vogue’s Hamish Bowles are also being honored.

We hear Mai and Liu will be seated at Asian American philanthropist Yao King’s first-ever AAPI Emerging Designers table along with fellow grant winners, Dauphinette designer Olivia Cheng, and Grace Ling.
