“Home Improvement” alum Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested again on Friday — this time, for DUI and driving without a license in Custer County, Ok.
Bryan — who portrayed teenager Brad Taylor in the hit ABC sitcom — was approached by police on Friday morning around 6:47 a.m., TMZ reports. The former child star was allegedly sleeping in the back seat of his vehicle at the time.
Officers claimed they left Bryan after having a brief conversation with him. Though, they ended up pulling him over soon after he decided to start driving away.
During the traffic stop, Bryan told officers he had been drinking “too much” the night before, saying he didn’t “know if he ever stopped” before getting into his car to sleep it off, according to dash cam footage obtained by the outlet.
He went on to tell the officers that he was “running from California right now” because he hates “that place.”
Police proceeded to have Bryan take part in some field sobriety tests before taking him in.
Bryan claimed his suspended license stemmed from one of his previous DUI arrests, admitting to the officer in the car that he has “multiple.”
In February, he was arrested for a suspected DUI in California and was booked on charges of felony DUI with at least three felony priors and misdemeanor contempt of court.
He was released later the same day on $50,000 bail and had a court hearing scheduled on April 23.
The actor was also charged with two counts of menacing, two counts of assault in the fourth degree, coercion, felony strangulation, harassment and interfering with making a report after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend in 2020.
Bryan later claimed the entire incident was “blown out of proportion.”
“We got really loud. We were screaming and because we were in a townhome that had [thin walls], everybody could hear,” he said.
“At the end of the day, [the police] throw a bunch of counts at you because they ultimately want you to plead to something,” Bryan continued. “I could’ve fought it … but that’s more stress and drama.”
