“Tell Me Lies” star Jackson White admitted — to his parents — that he was critiqued for “not thrusting right” in sex scenes for the series.
The actor divulged the head-turning tidbit while discussing behind-the-scenes production insight on his mom, Katey Sagal, and stepdad, Kurt Sutter’s, podcast, “PIE,” on Monday.
“Someone was like, ‘He’s not thrusting right.’ I was like, ‘How?’” White, 28, recalled.
“They’re like, ‘Well, he’s kind of, it doesn’t look like he’s inside. So, we have to make it so that it’s more realistic.’”
Specifically, White said production members claimed he was doing “a body roll thing” and they wanted to see him “more stationary.”
“We worked on it, and I … nailed it,” he confirmed.
The Hulu star also revealed that “Tell Me Lies” sex scenes would be filmed within a week under the guidance of an intimacy coordinator, which he called a “sex coordinator.”
“You got one sex coordinator — one intimacy coordinator — that would line up with a week,” he recalled.
“So, it would be like a sex week, and there would be sex scenes all day long.”
White said the intimacy coordinator would run “from set to set” because multiple sex scenes would be shot at once.
“It would be like sex days, and then I’d be in my trailer,” he joked.
White stars as Stephen DeMarco in the drama series opposite Grace Van Patten, who portrays his on-screen girlfriend, Lucy Albright.
The pair also happens to be dating in real life.
The first season of “Tell Me Lies” premiered in September 2022, while the second season debuted last month.
Hulu has not yet announced if “Tell Me Lies” will be renewed for a third season as of Thursday evening.
