Suzyn Waldman’s Dodgers threat ahead of World Series: ‘I’ll kill them myself’

Suzyn Waldman isn’t messing around with a World Series at stake.

The Yankees color commentator was asked on WFAN Wednesday about the Dodger Stadium wall that helped ruin the Yankees’ 2023 season.

“[That wall] better be padded because if Juan Soto runs into [it] …I’ll kill them myself,” Waldman said, half-joking, when asked if the wall had been padded in the 18 months since Aaron Judge’s catastrophic injury.

In June 2023, on a bright and sunny Los Angeles afternoon, Judge barreled through a fence door in the Dodgers’ outfield chasing down a deep fly ball.

Judge secured the catch but it cost him a busted toe and a trip to the injured list.

Tests revealed that the collision resulted in a torn ligament, and the Yankees captain missed 42 games.

The Yankees struggled without their captain and were not able to battle back into playoff contention.

Judge, of course, patrols center field now for the Yankees with his fellow slugger Soto out in right this season.

Waldman — and the Dodgers — can breathe easy.

The wall was indeed strengthened, with extra strips of padding added to both its top and bottom, as president and part-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers Stan Kasten told The Athletic.

“[Judge] didn’t go through the door, which is what I thought [happened] when I was watching the game,” Kasten said, per The Athletic. “Then I got out there and realized the door doesn’t open in that direction.

“He actually broke through where some of the panels were joined, the barrier between the two connecting panels. Which is unbelievable.”

Waldman promised to check out the renovations as soon as she touched down in LA.

The iconic Yankees voice, accompanied by her partner in crime John Sterling, will be on the radio call on WFAN for Game 1 on Friday.
