Rachael Gunn, aka Raygun, ditched her green-and-gold tracksuit for a glam new look in her cover shoot for Stellar magazine.
On Thursday, the Australian breakdancer gave her Instagram followers a “sneak peak” of the shoot, which will be released in full on Sunday.
In the cover shot, Gunn stunned in an electric blue gown with bell sleeves, which she paired with strappy black sandals.
Opposed to her typical baggy ‘fits, the dress showed off the dancer’s curves as she posed with her hands on her hips.
Gunn, 37, slicked her shoulder-length hair — which she usually wears down in loose waves — back into a long braided ponytail.
She completed her bronzed makeup look with deep red lipstick as she looked defiantly down the barrel of the camera.
The cover, set on a yellow background, also featured a poignant quote from the dancer’s accompanying interview.
“You did not bring me down. You did not succeed. I will stand by what I did,” it read.
Raygun went viral over the summer after competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics breakdance competition, in which she did not score a single point.
Her quirky facial expressions, backward roll, sprinkler move and kangaroo hop left many viewers — including Jimmy Fallon — confused as to how she secured a spot on the world’s biggest stage.
Amid the influx of hate, Gunn took to her Instagram to defend her performance and selection in the competition.
“I didn’t realize that that would also open the door to so much hate which has frankly been pretty devastating,” she said. “While I went out there and I had fun, I did take it very seriously.”
“I worked my butt off, preparing for the Olympics and I gave my all truly.”
Even Australia’s breaking organization, AUSBreak, spoke out about her selection, confirming she was chosen through a “fair and transparent” audition process.
During her first sit-down interview last month, Gunn revealed she had only “seen little bits and pieces” of her highly criticized performances but never watched the whole thing due to the backlash.
“I am stll in the process of being able to describe how I feel about all this stuff because it kind of feels like a really weird dream that I’ve been having that I’m going to wake up from at any moment,” she told Australia’s Network 10’s “The Project.” “Like, what is life right now?”
The academic-turned-dancer also revealed she was taking a break from competition for the foreseeable future.
“I would much rather focus on the positives out of this, and the positive responses and the joy that I brought people,” she said.
“It’s going out there and just having fun and going as hard as you can in the face of, you know, losing.”
